This week our Senior Career Manager Colin Duncan talks about interviewing tips and about some of the most common problems that people face when being interviewed. A successful interview takes preparation and requires you, the employee, to be calm, relaxed and know what you want to achieve out of the meeting – and the job.
Interviewing Tips
The closest thing (experience) to an interview is a blind date, for many people. Obviously in an interview you won’t be flirting with the interview pannel, but what you do need to do is engage them! You’re not being interogated, you’re having a conversation, so always remember that.
Research the company that you’re having an interview with, and even the interview pannel members, so that you go to the interview prepared. Think about some of the questions you might be asked, especially if you’re coming from a different (maybe lower) position within another company that is within a totally different industry.
