China Claims World’s Longest High-Speed Rail Line

China is at the forefront of high-speed rail services and has been for many years. It has one of the biggest and busiest rail networks in the world and connects almost all cities and towns within the country. Trains in China are safe, comfortable and efficient – an experience in itself.

China claims world’s longest high-speed rail line, takes travelers 1,428 miles in a workday

China now claims to have the world’s longest high-speed rail line, taking travelers 1,428 miles from Beijing (in the north) to Guangzhou (in the south) in 8 hours. The trip, which used to take 20 hours, has been cut by over half as a result of the 186MPH train. Whilst not the fastest train in China, it is the fastest that travels this kind of distance.

The biggest achievement here is that the fair is only ¥865 ($139), which will take you a distance that was not easily achievable without flying – the previous travel time of 20 hours is less than a full day, but that length of travel time will take it’s toll on the traveller.

So now exploring China is now much easier and cheaper to do – and lets not forget the issue of safety and environmental impact that these trains deal with very well.
